Children aged five to eleven can still get first COVID-19 vaccine

Porcupine Health Unit wants parents and guardians to know that their five year old to eight year old child can still get their COVID-19 vaccine.

HORNEPAYNE—Porcupine Heath Unit (PHU) want to inform parents, and guardians that its not too late for children aged five to eleven to get their first or second COVID-19 vaccines.

In  a recent facebook notice they shared that, “If your child has already received their first dose, remember that for optimal protection against COVID-19, they should receive their second dose eight weeks later,” they stated.

In addition, they want you to know that even if your child has previously had COVID-19, it is still important they get fully vaccinated.

PHU shared that according to many reports, reinfection with the Omicron variant is more likely that other variants.
