City of Wawa opens council meetings to the public

Living with the restrictions and affects of a pandemic has for many Ontarians been challenging and life changing. Municipalities have had to maintain these restrictions in order to help keep their residents healthy and safe. Thankfully, with restrictions slowly being lifted, activities that once were restricted are once again becoming an option for the public.
Wawa

WAWA—With the next council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 15, 2022, the Municipality of Wawa has declared that their Municipal Council and Committee meetings will be open to the public, effective immediately.

The life changing affects of COVID-19 has imposed many restrictions to all municipalities, its residents and facilities. But, with the Ontario government recently lifting many of these restrictions, the public has been given back some of the freedom that has been put on hold for several years. With this in mind, Wawa's city council has agreed to allow their interested residents city council meetings.

Members of the public wishing to attend these meetings must adhere to some very specific public health guidelines that the municipality had identified. These include:

  1. Handwashing/sanitizing mandatory
  2. No entry if showing symptoms of COVID-19
  3. Wearing a mask/face covering is required
  4. Passive screening of patrons entering the building

Council meetings will also continue to be broadcast live on the Municipality’s YouTube Channel. To access livestream of these meetings for the public go to:
