Comedy hypnotist, Fernandez, coming to Hornepayne and Manitouwadge

Fernandez, the internationally acclaimed Hypnotist and Mentalist, is coming to Hornepayne and Manitouwadge next month.

There’s an evening of mentalism, hypnosis, fun and laughter coming to Hornepayne; Fernandez, the internationally acclaimed Hypnotist and Mentalist, is coming to put on a show this June.

Fernandez’s stage shows highlight his amazing variety of mind-bending talents and insights into the world of the psyche and psychic phenomenon, including mentalism, hypnosis and a slight detour into the world of the paranormal.

But fear not! Fernandez assures us that his goal is to entertain, not frighten his audience. And lest you be afraid he may have his ‘guests’ cluck like a chicken whilst onstage, he promises that’s not part of his act. He will ask for volunteers, and anyone, regardless of their level of skepticism or belief, is welcome onstage. Through experience and knowledge, Fernandez expertly steers the show and its participants, amusing and entertaining everyone in the theatre.

He may have an individual temporarily believe that they’re a famous person, or enlist them as a member of the ‘laughter police’. These unofficial officers, under the spell of hypnosis, believe that their task is to warn individual audience members of their offence of having a good time, leading to hilarious outcomes! The audience members will also get a chance to participate in the mind-boggling action; he invites people to perform simple acts right in their seats. At his suggestions, you may find your hands stuck together, or have an imaginary bowling ball in one hand and a balloon in the other. He is careful to keep the show’s content age and politically appropriate, and assures everyone that it’s all in fun.

Fernandez, whose father was also an entertainer, has lived in the spotlight for his entire life. Having moved to the Toronto area from Cuba at the age of five, he has dabbled in a variety of show-biz acts, including magic, hypnosis, and even a bird act when he was a teenager! He’s traveled the world since then, honing his craft at casinos, conventions, and other venues, as well as on cruises and TV shows, such as ‘The Unexplained’, with Allen Spraggett, ‘Mr. Dressup’, Merv Griffin, and the Tonight Show. He was the magic consultant on the movie, ‘Abracadabra’. He also performed with such stars as Jerry Lewis, Bob Hope, Dan Aykroyd, and was a regular in Liberace’s glittering Las Vegas act!

He's looking forward to the Northern Ontario tour, which starts at Sooblaster in Sault Ste. Marie on June 9. He’ll be helping to raise funds for the Hornepayne Legion on June 10 from 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets ($20 in advance, $25 at the door) can be purchased at the Legion Clubroom, or from Legion members, Albena, Cindy or Liana. On June 11, he will be performing at the Manitouwadge Golf Club, at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the Township office and at the door ($15)

You can learn more about this talented hypnotist/mentalist and his act at  or on his Facebook page.

“You’ll have a great time,” Fernandez promises. “You can be the star of the show, or you can just watch and be entertained. Either way, you’re in for a great experience!”
