GERALDTON – A community barbecue in Geraldton over the weekend was more than just an event to nourish residents, it also fed the community with information.
Greenstone Mine held their annual community barbecue in Geraldton on Saturday, Sept. 10.
Greenstone's Mayor Renald Beaulieu said it was an outstanding event.
“Kudos to the people of Greenstone that were there specifically, a lot of people from the Geraldton ward and those are the ones that are directly affected by the project, but let me tell you the support that was there, the amount of people that were there and how the mine put this together was fantastic,” Beaulieu said in an interview with CFNO.
The event featured tours of the property, large equipment displays, information sessions and of course great food.
Greenstone Gold are developing an open pit gold mine near the intersection of Highway 11 and Highway 584.
