MARATHON -- Despite some citizens complaining about the cleanliness around Marathon, Mayor Rick Dumas begs to differ.
"Our community is very clean," Dumas said. "The streets are all pretty well swept now, they are out fixing up the remaining potholes after they've done the street sweeping."
Dumas adds in order to keep the community clean and vibrant, it's not just about pitch-in day that happens one day a year.
"I would encourage all residents, like I have in the past, you know, it's not just about pitch-in day that one day a year when we get out and cleanup the community," Dumas said.
The mayor is encouraging residents if they are out walking the trails, the side walks, to bring a bag and pick up any garbage spotted.
"It's all of us contributing to cleaning up our community."
Dumas adds he's very proud of how many local dog owners are picking up after their pets.
