Concern with bears leads to Red Rock warning residents

With the coming of spring the municipality cautions its residents to be aware that bears will be coming out of hibernation. Proper collection and storage of waste will be important to avoid bears coming onto their property.

RED ROCK—The Municipality of Red Rock cautions its residents. With the return of warmer temperatures comes the return of bears.

It asks all residents to refrain from putting garbage out at night, and instead wait until the morning, before the scheduled waste collection truck comes around in their neighbourhood.

Bears are attracted to garbage and as the municipality states, “they don’t know how to clean after themselves."

With spring cleaning in full swing, residents are reminded to use the appropriate waste collection receptacles and keep garbage in locations that bears will not be able to access.

Staying safe is the municipality top priority, during this time.
