Conservation officers investigating after fish dumped near Manitouwadge

MANITOUWADGE — Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry conservation officers are investigating an incident of several fish being abandoned near Manitouwadge. 

The ministry is seeking the public's help in identifying those responsible after a conservation officer responded to complaints of northern pike abandoned on April 7 at Chicken Farm Lake, near Manitouwadge.  

The officer found eight northern pike that had been abandoned on the ice of Chicken Farm Lake. The ministry said the situation will be taken seriously and is looking to identify those responsible. 

If anyone in the area has any information that will assist the ministry in their investigation, or needs to report a natural resource problem, they are asked to contact the TIPS line toll free at 1-877-847-7667 or their local ministry office.
