This year, students in their cooperative education program, completed it with a high level of success.
In the program’s first Quadmester all four students completed the program. These students participated in a wide range of careers in skilled trades. Trades included facilities technician, and heavy-duty equipment technician.
In the second semester, six of the seven students who participated in the cooperative education program, also chose to explore careers in skilled trades. Placements included participating in areas such as in child development practitioner and automotive care technician.
In addition, for this year, the school was also happy to announce that three of their Grade 12 students, David, Dylan and Steven were lucky recipients of the Skilled Trades Program Bursary, which is a $1,000 bursary award. These bursaries can be used to explore skilled trades pathways in post-secondary education.
The school is excited about continuing the OYAP/Cooperative Education programs next year.
