COVID-19 cases on the rise in Algoma region

Algoma public health is advising residents in the region that there has been a rise in COVID-19 cases.

WAWA--Algoma Public Health issued an update advising residents that in the past 2 weeks there has been an increase of COVID-19 cases across the Algoma region.

As a result they issued a public advisory reminding everyone to protect themselves and others by considering several key things to help protect and reduce the risk of contracting and spreading COVID-19.

There guidelines include:

  • Staying up to date with vaccinations.
  • Wearing a well-fitted mask indoors or in crowded spaces.
  • Screening for symptoms and staying home when ill.
  • Using rapid tests or seek PCR testing if eligible and when exposed or if symptoms begin.
  • Keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
  • Practicing frequent handwashing and physical distancing.
