TERRACE BAY — A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the McCausland Hospital.

The North of Superior Healthcare Group announced the outbreak on Monday, which affects the hospital's Acute and Continuing Complex Care wing.

The COVID-positive individuals are currently in self-isolation and the hospital is limiting visitors to two essential care partners per patient to help contain the spread of the virus.

The North of Superior Healthcare Group has implemented outbreak management measures including increased infection prevention and control practices and surveillance testing for affected individuals.

Hospital staff will be closely monitoring for symptoms as well as working closely with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit to manage the outbreak and protect patients and staff.
