COVID-19 vaccine clinics for Superior North region accepting appointments

Appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine for Superior North communities continues to be available.

THUNDER BAY — Beginning Nov. 15, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, (TBDHU) is providing additional COVID-19 vaccine clinics in several communities in the Superior North region.

Clinics are open to everyone aged five and older for any dose they are eligible for, including individuals aged 60 and over for 4th doses (second boosters), as long as they meet the dose interval eligibility. Walk-ins are only available for those five years and over. Priority will be given to those with a booked appointment.

Appointments can be made by booking online using the provincial COVID-19 Vaccine Booking System, or by calling the provincial booking line at 1-833-943-3900. The Thunder Bay District Health unit suggests that If you have problems with the Provincial Booking System, to call your local health branch office for help.

Dates, times and locations vary with each community but are available as follows:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 15, Terrace Bay Cultural Centre Hall, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 16, Nipigon Community Centre, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 23, Lakeview Community Hall, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 23, Nakina, Royal Canadian Legion, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. You are required to call Nakina Medical Centre, at 807-329-5264 to book the appointment.
  • Thursday, Nov. 24, Manitouwadge Community Centre, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The health unit reminds residents that those with appointments have priority. Walk-ins accepted for anyone 5+, only as vaccine supply allows. To guarantee a vaccine, it is best to book an appointment.
