Crown Royal Whisky recalled over glass contamination

A recall has been issued for Crown Royal Reserve brand Canadian Whisky due to the potential presence of glass in the product.

THUNDER BAY — The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a Class 2 recall for Crown Royal Reserve brand Canadian Whisky – Aged 12 Years, citing the potential presence of glass in the product.

The recall applies to 750 mL bottles distributed in Ontario as well as Alberta, British Columbia, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

The affected product is labelled UPC 0 82000 80992 0, code 5199.

Class 2 recalls are issued when a product could cause temporary health issues, or where the risk of serious health consequences is considered low but possible.

The CFIA warns that consuming the whisky may pose a risk of injury due to glass fragments.

Consumers are urged to stop using the product immediately and dispose of it safely.
