RED ROCK—Red Rock Mountain trail clean up day took place June 25, and despite the weather volunteers turned up to help make the trail look as good as it can.

The township made sure that groups and volunteers were treated to a free lunch and lots of comradery.

Volunteers were prepared for the elements providing their own loppers, and as hardy hikers, joined the township for the clean-up day.

The day would not have been possible without the efforts of several community individuals, groups and businesses.

The township, thanked Michael Elliott of Epic Adventures for providing an information session on hiking safety and maintenance activities, hikers can do to help keep our trail looking good for all users.

This event was funded by Trans Canada Trail with five biodegradable t-shirts donated by Columbia Sportswear.

They thanked Superior Country for helping to organize this event in partnership with the Township of Red Rock.

Everyone involved, on clean-up day, encourages the community to head down Red Rock Road 1 and go check out the Red Rock Mountain Trail with its four great lookouts.
