HORNEPAYNE — A local resident faces charges after police responded to an assault last week.
Provincial police said officers were called to an assault in progress on Sixth Avenue in Hornepaye on the night of Aug. 11.
Police said a 32-year-old is charged with spousal assault and failure to comply with an undertaking.
The accused has been released from custody and is expected to appear in a courtroom in Hearst later this month.
Police have not released the name of the accused due to the domestic nature of the incident.
