Ontario Provincial Police have charged a New Brunswick man with impaired driving in Geraldton.

GREENSTONE — A man from New Brunswick faces a pair of charges after OPP say they caught him doing donuts in a vehicle outside of a local store.

In a media release, police said officers came across the driver on Friday around 10:10 p.m. while on patrol. They subsequently saw the same vehicle later on Main Street in Geraldton and conducted a traffic stop.

Police allege that the driver was impaired. He was arrested and taken to the Greenstone detachment for further testing.

He now faces a charge of impaired driving and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level of over 80 milligrams.

The driver was released from custody with a future court date of March 20 in Geraldton, police said.

It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when we are unlikely to follow the case to its conclusion in the courts.
