WHITE RIVER—The Municipality of White River wants its residents to reduce their “Environmental Footprint”.

The week of May 21, through to May 28, has been identified as Amnesty Garbage Week. Hosted by the municipality Environmental Awareness Subcommittee, it offers residents the opportunity to take advantages of services offered such as: battery/cell phone recycling, computer, TV, printer cartridges and audio and video devices disposal.

Public Health guidelines will be adhered to that week, but will not be limited to physical distancing, hand washing, and wearing of a mask if you have any COVID-19 symptoms.

The key goal of this event is to encourage everyone to do their part in cleaning up their community while keeping each other safe during this process.

For those who do not have access to a vehicle and cannot personally go to the community landfill site, residents are able to call the Township Office at 822-2450 to make arrangements for pick-up.

The Township of  White River's website features two detailed posters that outline all items that can be disposed of that week, as well as specific dates and times.

Their Environmental Awareness Subcommittee wishes to invite everyone to participate, reduce their “environmental footprint” and dispose of unwanted items appropriately.
