Extreme cold warning issued for parts of the region

Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.

SUPERIOR NORTH -- Environment Canada is urging residents to bundle up.

The government weather agency states that a period of very cold wind chills is expected Monday morning.

Minimum temperatures near -33C with wind hcill values near -45.

Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.
