Extreme cold in effect for Peawanuck, Fort Severn

Environment Canada urging residents to dress warmly.

PEAWANUCK – Environment Canada warning those in Peawanuck and Fort Severn to bundle up.

The government weather agency says temperatures of -27C to -33C with wind chill values between -40 and -45 are expected Tuesday morning.

Temperatures are expected to slowly rise later this morning.

Dress warmly. Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant.

Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.
