MARATHON — A fire at a beauty salon caused significant damage, and has also forced two other businesees to be temporarily closed
The Marathon Fire Department responded to a structural fire at Beautiful You Esthetics mid-Friday morning.
Fire Chief Earl Grigg said that the cause of the fire is faulty wiring from a heater and the subsequent fire and smoke damage had resulted in a total loss of the business.
Two businesses — an LCBO and a dental clinic — beside the beauty salon also sustained damage from the fire. They are closed until repairs can be made and an engineer can access the roof.
Grigg said no one was injured during the fire.
A crowdfunding page is set up for the owner of Beautiful You Esthetics. The Go Fund Me page, Help Amanda and her business, was organized by Regan Boyd. She said the funding will go toward the loss of income the owner will experience, as well as, the loss of supplies.
