ARMSTRONG – Parts of Northern Ontario are under a frost advisory.

Temperatures could drop to as low as zero, with patchy frost, in the Armstrong area, a couple of hours north of Thunder Bay. Nakina, Aroland and Pagwa are also inside the potential frost zone.

The daytime high is expected to reach 19 C on Saturday.

According to Environment Canada, the patchy frost is expected to begin on Saturday night and could last into Sunday morning as the mercury drops.

Residents are advised to cover up plants, especially in frost-prone areas.

Frost advisories are put in place during growing season when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark, which could damage or destroy plants.
