It might be a little too early yet to start with outdoor planting in some parts of Northwestern Ontario.

Environment Canada issued a frost advisory on Wednesday, with temperatures expected to drop to near or below the freezing mark overnight and into Thursday morning.

The advisory includes Thunder Bay, as well as Atikokan. It also includes the entire north shore area of Lake Superior.

Environment Canada advised that plants be covered, especially in frost-prone areas. People are also urged to take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.
