GERALDTON—A student from Geraldton Composite High School was chosen to be the voice for all students on Superior-Greenstone District School Board, (SGDSB), and sit as their student trustee.
At their most recent Board meeting, SGDSB announced that they have chosen Cheyenne Neimen to be their newest student trustee, a position that is held for two years.
SGDSB Director of Education, Nicole Morden-Cormier spoke with Al Cresswell on CFNO where she described how the Board rotates the position of student trustee on a two-year basis.
Morden-Cormier shared that Cheyenne as a student from Geraldton Composite High School, and is a resident of Longlac, Ontario.
The Director spoke highly of their choice by stating that, “Cheyenne brings such passion for mental health and well-being. She ran on a platform that really spoke to us about how important it is to have student voice on our Board,” shared Morden-Cormier.
The Board was very pleased to welcome Cheyenne and are confident that she will do great things.
