Greenstone District School Board outlines activities for National Indigenous History Month

With June identified as National Indigenous History Month across Canada, Superior Greenstone District School Board is ready to celebrate, and engage its school community in a variety of activities related to this initiative.

Superior Greenstone District School Board marked the start of National Indigenous History Month.

TERRACE BAY—Superior Greenstone District School Board marked the start of National Indigenous History Month, by informing their students, parents, guardians, caregivers, families and staff about the many learning opportunities planned across the region.

The board outlined that learning will take the form of many methods and with many activities, including:

  • A visit from Anishinaabe lawyers visiting Civic class.
  • Indigenous Youth Gathering.
  • Language days facilitated by the Anishinaabe Boodawe Committee.
  • KAIROS Blanket Exercise for some schools and classes.
  • Dilico offering a week of learning through virtual presentations.
  • Musical performances by incredible winning Indigenous artists.

Superior Greenstone District School Board is proud to offer these engaging, educational and enlightening activities to their school community to celebrate, participate, and learn about Indigenous culture, traditions, language and Peoples.
