Greenstone man killed in Highway 11 collision

Victim died in crash between a passenger vehicle and a transport.

BEARDMORE -- Ontario Provincial Police say a 56-year-old man from Greenstone was killed on Thursday in a collision between a passenger vehicle he was driving and a transport trailer.

The driver of the transport, and a passenger riding in the vehicle, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police have not identified the victim, and charges are not expected to be laid in the incident,which took place just before 5 p.m. on Thursday, about 11 kilometres south of Beardmore, and led to the closure of Highway 11 in both directions for more than 18 hours.

The highway reopened on Friday morning.
