GREENSTONE – Greenstonen’s Mayor Renald Beaulieu is encouraging residents to make a difference in their community.

The deadline to register for this October’s municipal election has arrived and Beaulieu is encouraging residents to step forward if they hope to make a difference in their community.

“A lot of things are going to be happening in Greenstone, I think it’s a very exciting time for anybody wanted to get involved in politics,” Beaulieu said in an interview with CFNO.

Residents sometimes sit back and wonder what’s happening in the community, why certain things are happening and how come things take long, this is a way they can find out, Beaulieu said.

“You can make a difference, all of us by deciding to run as a politician, whether it’s a councillor, whether it’s the mayor, whether it’s for the school board…I’m encouraging anybody to do that in all the different wards.”

Beaulieu will not be seeking re-election this Oct. 24.

Deadline to register is Friday, Aug. 19 at 2 p.m.
