HEARST—The Municipality of Hearst informed residents that a reduced road load period is now in place. Snowfall levels and extreme temperatures have been the norm for the region this winter. With the concern over what the spring thaw may do, to the safety and conditions of their roads, many municipalities are informing their community of by-laws in place to protect road conditions.

City officials indicated that as of April 5, 2022, and in accordance with the “Town of Hearst Traffic By-Law No. 17-81", a reduced load period is now in effect for heavy traffic.

The municipality explains that these restrictions are put into place to protect their roads during the spring thawing season and will remain in effect until June 30, 2022, unless otherwise advised by them.
