Winter weather conditions have closed a section of highway along Lake Superior's north shore on Friday morning.
The Ministry of Transportation reported that Highway 17 had closed between Nipigon and Schreiber. It was later extended east to Marathon.
Environment Canada has issued winter storm warnings for several parts of the region, including along the north shore. The agency's statement said the Nipigon, Schreiber and Marathon areas may be hit with between 30 and 50 centimetres of snow.
