HORNEPAYNE—With the upcoming Ontario municipal election, some candidates who have thrown their hat into the running for their communities have been fortunate enough to be uncontested and therefore, acclaimed.
One such candidate is Hornepayne councilor, Drago Stefanic, who recently shared a letter expressing his gratitude to his community for gaining a third term.
In his letter addressed to the citizens of the community of Hornepayne, Stefanic humbly expresses how he felt about being given the “honor and privilege to be on the Township of Hornepayne municipal council for another term, (November 15, 2022-November 2026),” said Stefanic.
Stefanic described how he intends to continue serving his community by mentioning values such as integrity and passion. He spoke about his intent to support local businesses and in finding ways to welcome new businesses and economic development to the community.
“You have my firm and unequivocal commitment to serve you with integrity, passion, principled values and above all with courtesy and respect. I am a firm believer in supporting local businesses as well as committed to having our community stay vibrant and welcoming to new business and development,” stated Stefanic.
Stefanic also alluded to his plan to work along with their Ad-Hoc committee to develop the “walking trail” to what he described as the, “Geographical centre of Ontario”, and as a result help support local tourism initiatives.
Stefanic also listed key programs and projects he wishes to continue to spearhead and support including: improving and upgrading their aging infrastructure, road, and facilities.
He concluded his address to the community by encouraging everyone to attend Municipal council meetings and access the Hornepayne Facebook page and website for local information regarding programs and initiatives, as they happen.
