HORNEPAYNE-- As the rest of the province of Ontario faces the Municipal and School Board election on Oct. 24, 2022, residents of Hornepayne will not be voting this year.
On Wednesday Aug. 24, 2022, Municipal clerk for the Township of Hornepayne, Gail Jaremy posted a notice acclaiming that all certified candidates who put forth their name for a mayor, councillors, and school trustees were declared acclaimed.
As a result, Jaremy also announced that the Township of Hornepayne will not be holding a Municipal election in 2022.
She indicated in her notice to residents that “all positions for Municipal Council and School Board Trustees have been acclaimed."
Council members will be sworn in on Nov. 15.
The following list of all positions to be sworn in was posted as follows:
Mayor: Cheryl T. Fort (incumbent-unopposed)
Councilor:
- Belinda Lee Kistemaker (incumbent)
- Peter Kistemaker (incumbent)
- Ted Scheniman
- Drago Stefanic (incumbent)
School Board:
- Russell Reid-Trustee (incumbent) English Public School Board, Algoma District School Board-North
- Carol MacEachern-Trustee (incumbent)English Separate School Board, Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board-North
- Lucie Paquin-Trustee (incumbent), French Public School Board, Conseil scolaire public du nord-est de l’Ontario.
- Roger Lamoyne-Trustee (incumbent), French Separate School Board, Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario.
