HORNEPAYNE — Move over Travelodge, there’s a new hotel in town.

On March 12, Rideout Bay Developments is hosting a Hornepayne Hotel Update and Job Fair event at the Legion in Hornepayne to inform residents about progress on the new Studio 6 hotel.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m.

Other than a slide presentation featuring updates on the hotel’s progress, residents will also have the opportunity to learn more about positions they can apply for at the hotel.

In a recent social media post, it was announced that Rideout Bay Developments has already begun their search for a general manager and they are eager to hire “local talent.”

Ben S. Cohen, Rideout Bay’s chief executive officer, shared they are looking to hire about 15 people in total for hotel operations and looking to be up-and-running by the fall.

He said conditions weather-wise have been conducive to the building process, which has allowed Rideout Bay and their contractors to keep on at a steady pace towards completion.

“Construction has been going well. We’re about 55 per cent complete. The warm winter has been very favourable to the construction,” Cohen said.

Cohen will be making a special appearance during the event tomorrow night and light refreshments will be served.

There is no cost to attend the event.
