HORNEPAYNE — Hornepayne will kick the holiday season into gear this weekend.
The township's fire department is hosting its annual Christmas tree lighting and bonfire on Sunday at the Pavilion Centre on Front Street.
Hornepayne Mayor Cheryl Fort said this year's tree is a little different.
“It is a non-traditional tree," she said. "It is a long post with all lights cascading down into a formation of a tree,”
Hornepayne's newly sworn-in mayor and council will also hold a meet-and-greet this weekend. All positions were acclaimed, which meant an election was not needed.
