MANITOUWADGE -- The Manitouwadge Public Library and the Community Services department are teaming up to present ‘How to In Ten’, an evening of short classes on a variety of interesting and informative topics.

This free event will take place at the Community Centre Auditorium on June 1 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Each class lasts for approximately t10 minutes, and there are at least nine topics being offered; more may be added if instructors become available. Participants are encouraged to attend as many of the workshops as they wish in the two-hour period. The quick mini-courses, which include exercise, massage, mindfulness/meditation, salvation, finances, butterflies, knitting/crocheting, beaded lace, and healthy eating, will be presented by local townspeople. Some of the ‘teachers’ are professionals in their field, and others are simply folks who have learned their craft through years of practice and study.

For example, one of the instructors, John Lavoie, will be giving a talk about Monarch butterflies, explaining their role in our ecosystem, how we can help them on their migratory route, and discussing the tag and release program that takes place in mid-August.

So, if you’ve got t10 minutes (or more) to invest in a little education, come on down to the Manitouwadge Rec Centre on June 1.  One of these classes may be just what you need to set you on a new path towards a new skill, an amazing adventure or good mental, physical and spiritual health.
