Impaired driving charges laid in Longlac

An early morning report to police has led to impaired driving charges for a 51-year-old.

GREENSTONE -- A 51-year-old Longlac resident is facing impaired driving charges.

According to an Ontario Provincial police release, officers received a report of an intoxicated individual inside a motor vehicle on Friday, Aug. 19 just after 1 a.m in Loglac.

Police located the vehicle on Bayview Street and observed the accused inside the vehicle.

When police spoke with the accused, it was determined the accused was impaired by alcohol.

As a result, a 51-year-old of Longlac has been charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired - blood concentration (80 plus).

The accused's driver's license was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused was released by way of undertaking with a Longlac court date on Nov. 16, 2022.
