Intake for 2022 Community Improvement Program launched

Businesses and property owners in the downtown core will be given access to funding aimed at making improvements to their buildings.

MANITOUWADGE—If you are a Business or Property owner in the downtown core, you are going to want to know about this program.

The Municipality of Manitouwadge has just launched the 2022 Intake for the Community Improvement Program. Its target is businesses operating in the downtown core of the township.

Eligible businesses can receive $25,000 to revitalize their buildings.

For the township, the community improvement program area is focusing on the entrance to Town (high school) on Manitou Road through to the downtown core, including Prospector Park and Agawa Gardens, up to Sante Manitouwadge Health.

According to the Municipality, the 2022 intake will allow businesses and property owners in the downtown core to access grants in order to make physical improvements to their buildings. These improvements include:

  • Façade improvements
  • Sign improvements
  • Mural or Art Walls

Applications are open until the funding has been committed. According to the municipality notice, city council will review the first round of applicants at the July 20, 2022 Council meeting.
