MARATHON— Northern Ontario will be the recipient of 228 long-term care beds.
Minister of Long-Term Care Paul Calandra announced funding on Monday, Feb. 14 for long-term care beds across Northern Ontario.
As PC candidate for Thunder Bay Superior North, Peng You stated, “I am delighted to know that Marathon was part of today’s announcement.”
Marathon, has been slated for 14 new beds and construction is slated for spring of 2023.
Government funding for North of Superior Healthcare will allow for a new residence attached to the Wilson Memorial General Hospital.
Northern Ontario currently has 1, 249 new beds and 1, 977 upgraded long-term care beds under development or construction, which is also part of Doug Ford’s plan to fix long-term care and to ensure Ontario’s seniors get the quality of care and quality of life they deserve.
Peng You, further reacted to this announcement by saying, “I am delighted to know that Marathon was part of today’s announcement”.
“I applaud Premier Doug Ford for his continued investment in Northern Ontario, his continued commitment to long-term care and to the people of Northern Ontario”, added Peng You.
