LONGLAC—Students at Marjorie Mills Public School in Longlac had an opportunity to learn about the importance of water.

The students have grown increasingly grateful that they have access to clean water at their fingertips. Throughout this process, the students were able to learn about the types of water advisories that some communities in their region have faced.

Under the guidance and expertise of their teachers, students examined the 33 Reserves in Canada that are still under long-term drinking water advisories.

While progressing through their learning about this topic, students participated in an activity where they were given a community profile and an amount of money to build a water filtration system for their community.
