Man injured in Constance Lake First Nation fire

Fire broke out on Sunday morning at a residence on Machitch Crescent.

CONSTANCE LAKE – A man was injured, with what’s believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, in a fire that broke out in a residential structure in Constance Lake First Nation.

According to Nishnawbe Aski Police Service, the call for the fire was received just after 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3.

The incident took place in the zero-to-100 block of Machitch Crescent, with fire and smoke visible from the home.

Members of the OPP’s emergency response team, the Hearst Fire Department and paramedics were dispatched to the scene.

The NAPS crime unit is now involved in the ongoing investigation.
