Manitouwadge Health Team Auction is still a go, despite golf tournament delay

Place your online bids before Thursday, July 21 at 5 p.m. for the Silent Auction.

MANITOUWADGE -- Due to unforeseen circumstances, the SMHT golf tournament will be postponed until Sept. 3, 2022. The Silent Auction, however, which originally was to be part of the tournament, will still run this weekend.

Thirteen companies and individuals have generously donated a total of 20 prizes, such as a Chromebook Spin 311 Laptop, a tanning package, beauty products, jewelry, art and more.

There are two ways you can bid on these prizes: You can place your online bid on the SMHT Event Facebook page/discussion tab, before 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, or you can view all the items at ‘The Back Nine’ at the golf club, starting in the morning of Friday, July 22 and running until Sunday, July 24 at 8 p.m. The winners will be notified Monday, July 25 after the bidding sheets have been reviewed.

Proceeds from this tournament will go towards the funding of a new cardio rehab treadmill for the Physiotherapy department. This treadmill, which features special monitors and accessories, will be used by patients and program participants, but primarily by folks with heart related issues.

You and your team of four players can register for the ‘Fit Happens’ golf tournament, which will now take place on Saturday, Sept. 3. Visit the SMH main reception to pick up your registration form and pay the $70 per person ($280 per team) fee, which can be paid using debit or credit card, cash or cheque. Up to 18 teams can register, but the closing date is Aug. 24, so be sure to secure your space soon. A post tournament dinner will be held, and participants will receive a cool Swag Bag filled with souvenir water bottles and cups, pens, and a variety of golf balls and tools.

The tournament is sponsored by Ontario’s Nawiinginokiima Forest Management Corporation (NFMC) and Newmont Musselwhite.
