MANITOUWADGE — Fall 2022 is going to be a slightly busier time for Ontarians. The fall provincial election is taking place and political leaders like Doug Ford, and NDP leader Andrea Horvath are just two, of many leaders planning and launching their campaigns.

Many municipalities small and large in Ontario are also looking ahead with their own city council elections.  The Township of Manitouwadge is offering a “Candidate Information Workshop”.

If you are one of those individuals interesting in running for council, mark March 22 on your calendar.

The township has indicated that it is offering this informative workshop which will feature a guest speaker, Fred Dean, who will give interested community citizens a better understanding of “Council’s roles and responsibilities."

A full list of topics to be presented, including an explanation on what council describes as “how duties and responsibilities of public office will impact your life” can be found on the municipality’s Facebook page, which also features a poster for this event.

If interested individuals have any questions that they would like to ask Fred Dean they can send them to him at: [email protected] and he will answer your questions during the workshop. All questions will remain anonymous.

The date for this workshop is March 22 at 6:30 p.m., located in Council Chambers (in-person-and with Zoom (online).

Participants are reminded that registration is required to attend in-person or online via Zoom.
