Manitouwadge offers information workshop for future council candidates

Fall 2022 will be extra busy for the people of Ontario. It is an election year and many individuals may be considering running for public office. To help residents from Manitouwadge aspiring to run for city council, the township is offering a Candidate Information Workshop.

MANITOUWADGE—This fall brings with it an election, both provincial and local, in Ontario. The Municipality of Manitouwadge wants to gain the attention of anyone in their community who is thinking of running for city council.

On March 9, they informed their residents that they will be hosting a “Candidate Information Workshop”. This workshop is scheduled to take place March 22 at 6:30 p.m. and will be located in council chambers (in-person) and via Zoom (online).

Interested individuals are asked to join them for an informative workshop to feature guest speaker, Fred Dean. His focus will be to give you an understanding of council’s role and responsibilities.

The municipality’s Facebook, offered a poster that featured a full list of topics to be presented, including an explanation on how duties and responsibilities of public office will impact your life.

Interested future candidates who may have a question they’d like to ask Fred Dean can send them to: [email protected] and he will answer them during the workshop. All questions will remain anonymous.

The municipality reminds interested individuals that although this event is scheduled in-person, that it may be subject to change. Any indoor COVID-19 gathering restrictions, in place at the time of this event, are expected to be adhered to.
