Manitouwadge public school’s school yard story walk days to benefit families

For many young children and their parents, starting school for the first time, can bring with it some apprehension and uncertainty. Manitouwadge Public School wants to help minimize that, by offering their School Yard Story Walk days. This event will provide parents and their child an active and visual opportunity to see what the school yard features.

MANITOUWADGE—New Kindergarten students and families were recently invited to participate in Manitouwadge Public School’s School Yard Story Walk days.  The fundamental goal of this event is to facilitate an opportunity for families to explore their school yard and what it features, with their child.

The event is scheduled for April 15 and will be offered everyday until April 18, 2022. The school informed parents, guardians, and care givers that the School Yard Story Walk will remain up and can be accessed at any time, during those scheduled days.

MPS feels that with the coming of some warmer weather, it will be a great time to get outside, engage in some physical activity and connect with family over a story.

In the course of those specified days, the school is also featuring a story walk "Selfie Challenge". School community participants are encouraged to take a selfie and send it to [email protected], to be entered to win a $25 grocery gift card.

Everyone in the community is welcome to visit the school yard and enjoy the School Yard Story Walk days. It truly will facilitate an opportunity for parents, guardians, care givers and their child, to see and learn about what the school yard offers, while also meeting other parents and children attending Manitouwadge Public School.
