Manitouwadge residents to vote by phone or internet for fall Municipal election

Residents of Manitouwadge were informed that a telephone-internet voting method will be used for next month’s Municipal and School Board elections.

MANITOUWADGE—Manitouwadge residents will not be voting in this coming Oct. 24, 2022 Municipal election by the usual paper voting at poling stations.

Instead, CAO Florence McLean who spoke with Al Cresswell at CFNO-FM recently, indicated that council was asked by staff to consider voting by telephone or internet. Council decided to approved this method of voting.

This year therefore, the traditional paper voting at poles will not be used. Rather, residents will be receiving information about how this telephone-internet voting method will look like.

“Residents will be receiving a letter with instructions from a company the municipality is working with that will inform them of the process to follow. The letter will also provide them with an identification number which they can use online or on the phone in order to cast their vote,” explained McLean.

She added that should anyone experience any difficulty or are unsure as to how to participate, municipal office staff will be available to assist.

“If residents are unsure as to how to participate, they can contact the Municipal office anytime and staff will walk them through the process,” stated McLean.

McLean asks residents to contact the Town Hall to ensure you are on the Voter's list. Election day is October 24th.
