MARATHON—Marathon council is back to full strength.
Last week, a Marathon chiropractor, Zack Souckey was sworn in during its Monday meeting to fill a vacancy on town council.
Souckey was part of a group of five candidates on a shortlist under consideration to replace former councilor Chantal Gingras following her resignation from council last month to head up the Marathon Public Library.
He was chosen both for his enthusiasm towards community safety and will bring both a youth perspective to council and a business perspective as he and his wife operate a chiropractic clinic in the community.
Souckey will serve until the end of term, after which he will be running during the fall municipal election.
