MARATHON—The 2021 annual Drinking Water System Report was recently made available to all Marathon residents.
This yearly report was conducted by, Danielle Krawec, Water Inspector Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks Thunder Bay District Office and was sent to Brian Hyshka, water works/operation manager, for the Municipality of Marathon.
The report was based on an inspection which was conducted on September 22, 2021 and informed Hyshka of all the inspection’s findings.
Krawec, highlighted “Actions Required” and according to Krawec, “Best practice issues and associated recommendations, for the continued improvement of operations of the Marathon drinking-water system, are outlined within the report.”
Krawec further stated that, “Recommended Actions” convey information that the owner or operating authority should consider implementing in order to advance efforts already in place to address such issues as emergency preparedness, the fulsome availability of information to consumers, and conformance with existing and emerging industrial standards.”
The annual report included many other key components that were followed during the inspection and other key findings.
The Municipality of Marathon invited all residents interested in seeing this report to visit their website and that if they wish they can also request a hard copy at Town Hall.
