MARATHON — As winter sets in across the region, an indoor walking program is returning in Marathon.
The Marathon Family Health Team announced their program started on Monday and takes place at Marathon High School.
Michele Lajeunesse, the chief operating officer, said the program is run with the help of nine volunteers.
“We like to refer to them as walking champions in the community as you see them year-round in the community role modelling,” she said.
Lajeunesse said many of these volunteers are seen throughout the community walking year-round and sees them as role models.
The program is free, and takes place on Mondays and Thursdays between 6 and 8 p.m.
