MARATHON -- Efforts continue to try and reopen the Marathon Theatre.
CAO Daryl Skworchinski says there is really just one final hurdle to clear.
"The issue, right now, we are having difficulty securing actual movie licenses that we need from Sony and Warner Bros. They are based out of the states, and with the pandemic there are a whole new set of guidelines that you have to go through to secure those titles," Skworchinski said.
Officials are in the process of submitting financial document requirements, he said, and once approved, it's a quick process since movies are digital now.
The theatre has been closed since March 2020 due to the pandemic, and Skworchinski is hoping to have it re-opened by months end.
