MARATHON —The Emergency Control Group for Marathon met to review the Ontario public health and safety measures that come into effect as of March 1.

These measures include capacity limits lifted in all indoor public settings, as well as proof of vaccination requirements lifted (unless an organization or business chooses to implement them voluntarily).

As of March 1, Marathon citizens were informed that in line with provincial guidelines, proof of vaccination will no longer be required to use Town of Marathon indoor recreation facilities. These include:

  • Marathon Arena
  • Port Hole Pool
  • Lakeview Community Hall
  • Marathon Bowling Lanes
  • Marathon Cross-Country Ski Club
  • Marathon Seniors Club

For more information, residents are asked to please contact the Municipal office during regular business hours at: 229-1340, or after hours at: 229-6125. They encourage their residents to visit their Municipal website:  www.marathon.ca  and their Municipal Facebook page for updated information.
