NIPIGON—The Nipigon fall fishing festival committee, (NFFFC) is proud to let everyone know about the upcoming festival scheduled for September 2-5, 2022.
The township of Nipigon and the committee can boast about the fact that this festival has been one of the longest running Fishing Festivals, in the North Shore.
The NFFFC Facebook shared that, “For almost six decades, this festival has offered something for everyone.” It features one of the biggest Slo-pitch tournaments that weekend.
In addition, the committee described the festival as more that just a fishing derby. Rather, it is an event jam pakced with family-based activities sure to keep members of the township, of all ages, engaged. “It’s more that just a fishing derby! The festival is an opportunity for family, friends, and visitors to come together to taste fantastic food, enjoy excellent local entertainment, and participate in a ton of fun activities," they shared.
The Nipigon Fall Fishing Festival also supports many local organizations, as proceeds from the festival go to local organizations including Nipigon Legion, Elks Lodge, North Shore Golf Club, and the Nipigon Curling Club.
Proceeds from the festival benefit a variety of community programs such as minor hockey, youth curling and supports the funding of cadets and high school bursaries.
The committee extends an invitation to everyone to come and participate in the Nipigon fall fishing festival, an event sure to please everyone.
