Michipicoten First Nation summer camp a huge success

Michipicoten First Nation recently held a summer camp attended by 25 children.

MICHIPICOTEN—A summer camp on “Energy and Wacky Science” was recently held by Michipicoten First Nation.

The municipality shared that the summer camp ran for the entire month of July and how this was a great success.

Each of the children who registered and attended the camp received camp awards. Organized by Gina Simon, Coordinator, the children, learned to define and recognize energy and become aware that energy is all around them.

According to their release, children also learned about energy and the science of kinetics. “The children learned how their own bodies require, produce and receive energy from eating food and drinking water.”

Throughout the week, the children participated in various activities that expand their minds, creativity, and critical thinking.

Other activities include hikes, swimming, journaling and playing, the children met news friends and has a memorable experience, thanks to coordinator, Gina Simon, and facilitators from Elephant Thoughts.
