Motorcyclist charged with stunt driving on the highway

The driver wasn't an Ontario resident.

NIPIGON — A motorcycle driver was allegedly caught travelling 152 km/hr in a 90 km/hr zone on Saturday.

Provincial police were focused on motorcycle safety on Highway 11-17 between Nipigon and Schreiber over the weekend. 

Officers from the Nipigon and Schreiber detachments conducted traffic enforcement, resulting in charges against a 54-year-old New Brunswick driver. 

The driver was charged with stunt driving, had their license suspended for 30 days, and the motorcycle was impounded for 14 days. 

In a release, the OPP stated that it's committed to ensuring safety for all who use Ontario's roadways. 

Members of the public are urged to report impaired, aggressive or careless driving by calling 911 in emergency situations. Complaints of impaired, aggressive or careless driving can also be made by calling 1-888-310-1122.
